Believe in yourself...

Today, I would like to tell l you a story, it’s a story I heard many times while growing up. It was a meaningful moral.

The story revolves around six boys, they all made a deal, there was a great big tree in their village, and they decided to have a race to see who could reach the tree the fastest and get to the top. Now, their friends gathered and were talking among themselves saying that there was no way that anyone of the competitors could do it. The friends began jeering at the competitors saying that they should just give up. One by one the competitors began to drop out of the race, this happened till there was only one boy left, everyone was telling him he couldn’t do it. However the boy kept going. He reached the tree and quickly climbed to the top. Everyone stared at him in awe; he was like a squirrel, really fast. Everyone began questioning how on earth did this boy do it? Then his little sister stepped out from among the crowd and said “He couldn’t hear you while you were discouraging everyone, my brother is deaf.” He went on because he couldn’t hear that others were discouraging him, he believed in himself and he went on to do it.

Likewise, in life you will meet many people who ridicule you, they may try to put you down, lessen your self confidence and make you feel less that you are worth, but my friend, just turn a deaf ear to them, believe in yourself and anything will be possible. No mountain is too high for you to climb, no ocean to wide for you to cross. All it takes is a little courage and determination. You can achieve great things, just believe in yourself and know that you can do it. Those that matter do not mind, and those that mind do not matter. The people who really care for you will always be behind you.

Act the way you want to be and soon you’ll be the way you act. So, if you are timid and shy, act bravely and very soon this will become a part of your character.
